The AICP Exam Part I Workshop will provide an overview of what to expect from the AICP Exam. We will cover helpful tips on how to study and test taking strategies. The major topic areas of the exam will be outlined and sample test questions will be presented. The CAPPA Building Auditorium is a large venue and will allow attendees to spread out and facilitate social distancing.

January 29, 2022 – Future City NTX – Call for Judges
The Future City Competition – sponsored by DiscoverE (National Engineers Week) – inspires young students about engineering by challenging them to solve the real-world problems associated with building a livable city of the future. Through a series of fun, hands-on applications, student teams will apply the principles of every branch of engineering to address their future cities’ issues. This year’s theme is “Waste-Free Future.” More than 50 schools are working hard on their city concepts and their solutions for eliminating waste and pollution from future cities.
THE 2021-22 FUTURE CITY PROGRAM IS COMPLETELY VIRTUAL
North Texas conducts two parallel activities:
• The Future City Competition – the original DiscoverE middle-school program, and
• Future City Junior – pioneered by NTX to introduce 4-5th graders to engineering.

Dallas Planning & Urban Design department is hosting a virtual event on January 27th featuring 3 dynamic speakers: Dr. Lorin Carter, Suzan Kedron & Theresa O’Donnell! The event will provide an update on the ForwardDallas Land Use Plan update and also the panel will discuss equity in land use planning. While it is open to all, the conversation is geared toward Dallas Planning, Design and Real Estate professionals.

December 16, 2021 – North Central Section Holiday Party
The North Central Section Holiday Party will be Thursday, December 16 at 6:30 at Topgolf Dallas! The party will include Topgolf, food, two drink tickets, games and prizes, and an Ugly Sweater Contest! This will be the first real in-person event for our chapter in nearly two years. We can’t wait to see you!








June 15, 2021 – APA North Central Texas – Legislative Update Webinar
Lunch hour virtual conversation about the 87th Texas Legislature Regular Session. Members of the APATX Advocacy Committee reviewed the Chapter’s new advocacy approach, updated attendees on the outcomes of major bills that impact planning in Texas, and previewed how you can be involved to make the next session better for planning.
